As you head south of Asheville, NC, you’ll come upon Hendersonville, NC, a town with “one of the nation’s most attractive small-town shopping districts” located in Henderson County, North Carolina.

The Main Street of Hendersonville is a welcoming area of town with plenty of restaurants, shops, museums, and the well-known Hendersonville Curb Market. Outside of downtown Hendersonville, you’ll find several local vineyards, golf courses, and the historic Village of Flat Rock, home of the Flat Rock Playhouse and Carl Sandburg Home. Mills River is home to several breweries, and some great fishing at North Mills River as well.

  • Laurel Park is close to Jump Off Rock.
  • If you’re looking for a golfing community, Champion Hills, Cummings Cove & Kenmure are some options.
